It’s when something so important happens… something just, life changing.

It’s a single moment when a thousand voices start up in a powerful chorus and you’re just drowned in them. You can’t keep em straight, you can’t try and control it you simply let it pick you up and carry you away.

And for a moment you think you’re crazy. You’re almost CERTAIN that you’re crazy.

But you know better.

This is what it means to be an artist.

This is what it means to breathe life into nothingness and paint on an invisible canvas.

This is what it is to CREATE. For a moment to simply feel like a God.

And it’s exactly what it means to be so humbled by that fact… to know what it is to be a creator.

To believe in something so much… with all of your heart and soul that you simply can’t contain it in yourself anymore. You have no CHOICE but to express it. The medium doesn’t matter. The end result doesn’t matter. Nothing matters but the EXPRESSION.

This is what it means to be an artist.

This is what it means to harness a force never mentioned but that has been a driving force of mankind for longer then they remember.

This is what it means to be INSPIRED.

This is what it means to be driven by something more then yourself.

To be both the creator and the believer all at once.

To be great and to be humble all at once.

To be yourself, and yet something so much MORE all at once.

This is what it means to be an artist.

Before anyone says anything, i want you to think about that. and to think about when you make something. think about when you simply HAVE to make something. When it can't wait another day, hour, minute, second....

There is a magic in art.

It's important to know and respect that.

The dream was always running ahead of me. To catch up, to live for a moment in unison with it, that was the miracle. (Anais Nin)

What level are you and what's your major? We're level 3 for Media Arts and Animation and usually take day classes.

We've only found a few people from ILIS on deviantART so far, so it's interesting to talk to someone here since we're shy in person. >__>;;
lvl.. no idea. GAD major, and there are quite a few people here on devart from ILIS, its just most of us don't say it on our devart. then, you can get stalkers, and stalkers are creepy.
We're not afraid of any dA stalkers, that seems kind of lame. XD Lots of people here on deviantART meet at cons and stuff, so it doesn't seem like a problem. Also, we're just interested in seeing what people draw for fun instead of assignments, since none of our actual friends are artists and it's depressing. :/
well, i doubt you'll have such problems here at ILIS, a lot of people draw. In fact, at one point or another there was a sheet in the lounge for everyone to write their DA account on. perhaps you should start one up again?
We've only been in the student lounge like 3 times, it's really busy in there. *freaked out* X__X;;; That's a really good idea, though.
