For anyone curious about wtf I'm talking about, A good friend of mine committed suicide about two days ago. While perhaps I didn't "KNOW" him because we'd only ever talked across the net, he was a close friend to me these last few months and I will sorely miss him.

I'll cut the stuff short here. Nobody needs to hear about the way I feel and if you do just go read through my recent deviation. That sums up everything I was thinking as I made the picture.

good news. I've survived my finals in tact, and with a portfolio piece in hand. Thankfully, the book I've been sweating blood over arrived at my place a few hours before it was due so I got to show up with it and turn it in (tho I really wouldn't have minded the excuse to keep two books instead of 1 considering it cost me $40...

In any case, the news is good and I had a good reception for Fallen. In other words, I'm insanely happy right now because it's been a hell of a quarter at college and now I'm on break which means, you guessed it, I'm gone for a week. I know.. how tragic.. however will you live without me? (for those who don't actually "know" me, as in, actually talked to me, yes that was heavy sarcasm)

Despite the massive amount of setbacks and hurdles, at least I managed to get a concept book made and now Fallen is "official" in my mind for working with.

heres hope to it being a hell of a fun run whenever I get the time and willpower to work with it.

Really, nothing quite makes me feel better than to have a person show up and so tenderly offer their sincerest and most articulated appraisal of my work in so beautiful a manner as this. The fact that somebody took time out of their no doubt busy schedule to visit my quiet corner of Deviantart... *sigh* it's just so... so heartwarming. It really just makes me downright grateful. to know that their are people who choose, no, demand that their time which could be spent in so many other ways would willingly decide to pursue so meaningful and noble a task as this gives me great hope for the world.

It's a true pleasure to know that whilst I sit here, sketching out art the world will never know of, that their is someone, somewhere, with every determination to let me know how much they enjoy my work with an epic display of their own originality, flair, and talent.

Yes, much reflection has been done, and i believe somehow someway I've managed to latch back onto that fleeting memory of what drove me to where I am to begin with. What that means to you? well, probably nothing of importance.

Suffice it to say i may or may not have found my fire... pending on my mood of motivation anyways.

Yea so a lot of stuff should be posted up within the next month or so due to my classes. Look forward to the redesigns of Tal and Nao, as well as a new unreleased character (if anyone's keeping track.)

It’s when something so important happens… something just, life changing.

This is what it means to breathe life into nothingness and paint on an invisible canvas.

This is what it is to CREATE. For a moment to simply feel like a God.

And it’s exactly what it means to be so humbled by that fact… to know what it is to be a creator.

To believe in something so much… with all of your heart and soul that you simply can’t contain it in yourself anymore. You have no CHOICE but to express it. The medium doesn’t matter. The end result doesn’t matter. Nothing matters but the EXPRESSION.

This is what it means to be an artist.

This is what it means to harness a force never mentioned but that has been a driving force of mankind for longer then they remember.

This is what it means to be INSPIRED.

This is what it means to be driven by something more then yourself.

To be both the creator and the believer all at once.

To be great and to be humble all at once.

To be yourself, and yet something so much MORE all at once.

This is what it means to be an artist.

Before anyone says anything, i want you to think about that. and to think about when you make something. think about when you simply HAVE to make something. When it can't wait another day, hour, minute, second....
